Why lions pray at temples
Burning incense and praying at temples is a longstanding part of Chinese culture, a way to honour ancestors, show respect to the gods, and ask for blessings before something important. Lion dance teams are often seen performing at temples before a big performance as a way of paying respects and asking for good fortune. It's a reminder that the culture runs deeper than the performance itself, it starts with gratitude.
