Message about US Tariffs

US customers,

16 May Update

Many of our products previously taken offline are now back online for our US customers. However, at this time, US customers will be required to pay tariffs on our Asian-made products. These include our enamel pins and leather bag charms. These import duties will be added as an extra line-item at checkout, when calculating shipping fees.

As of 14 May, 2025, the combined US tariff rate on goods manufactured in China, Hong Kong and Macau entering into the US will be cut from 145% to 30%. In a joint statement released by the US and China Governments, it has been advised that the 30% tariff rate will apply for a 90-day period from 14 May 2025.

Please allow for extra delivery time as it is expected there may be delays during customs and clearance processing for items sent to the US.

Original Post:

As a result of the sweeping tariffs that the US President has put into place recently, we've had to remove some of our listings to avoid confusion, until more information is available. The tariffs affect some of our items that were produced in China and/or Hong Kong and delivered to us here in Australia. As we don't believe in charging our customers an additional 145% of the original cost price, we have decided to make them unavailable to customers in the US until further clarification from authoritative bodies.

The remaining items at The Seventh Lion are all produced locally here in Australia, and as yet, the de minimis threshold (whereby packages valued at or under USD$800 are eligible for free trade) is still in place for items produced in Australia. There will be no change to how we ship these products.

You can now comfortably shop at The Seventh Lion without worrying about having to pay extra tariffs on delivery.

This page will be updated as further information is provided.
